The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development of the Regional Government of Andalusia presents Gusto del Sur, the major brand for Andalusian food and beverages with a differentiated quality, which it is making available to the sector to give a new boost to Andalusian agri-food.
The event, which will be attended by representatives of the Andalusian agri-food sector, will take place next Wednesday, September 13, at 8:30 p.m. in the Hotel Alfonso XIII. It will be attended by the President of the Regional Government of Andalusia, Juan Manuel Moreno Bonilla, and the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development, Carmen Crespo. In addition, the general director of Industries, Innovation and Agri-Food Chain, Carmen Cristina de Toro, will present the main new features of the brand, approved by Decree in the Governing Council last June 27.
Gusto del Sur is already a reality, born from consensus with the business sector. In 2022, the Ministry commissioned a market study from an external research institute to find out the opinion of food and beverage business owners in Andalusia about Gusto del Sur, and it responds to the needs of the agri-food sector and consumers.
It represents the leadership of the sector and marks the beginning of a new stage in the agri-food promotion of Andalusia. The new brand identifies food and beverages from Andalusia with differentiated quality, helps consumers to appreciate and recognize them thanks to labeling on packaging, strengthens and improves the competitiveness of the sector and promotes marketing and internationalization.
Joining the Gusto del Sur brand brings a series of benefits, including: identifying products with quality and with Andalusia, being part of a pioneering and future-oriented initiative, receiving priority support in promotion and communication, advice on marketing, achieving exceptional visibility for Andalusian brands, associating them with excellence in quality and, in addition, having the institutional endorsement of the Regional Government of Andalusia.
Gusto del Sur represents the entire Andalusian agri-food reality[1] and the Regional Government of Andalusia will continue working with the sector to incorporate other quality assumptions so that the new brand is increasingly representative of the Andalusian agri-food sector.
To become part of Gusto del Sur, the Regional Government of Andalusia has simplified the administrative process through an online platform where business owners can provide documentation and submit the application for membership. The application period is open all year round and the resolution period is a maximum of three months.
Gusto del Sur is more than a brand that recognizes our way of doing and being, and our differentiated quality. It is a recognition of the unconditional commitment of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Sustainable Development to the sector, to rural development, to quality, innovation, food and cultural heritage.
