The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development of the Regional Government of Andalusia presents Gusto del Sur, the great brand of Andalusian food and beverages of differentiated quality that makes available to the sector to give a new impetus to the Andalusian agri-food.
The event, which will be attended by representatives of the Andalusian agri-food sector, will take place next Wednesday, September 13, at 20.30 at the Hotel Alfonso XIII. It will be attended by the President of the Junta de Andalucía, Juan Manuel Moreno Bonilla, and the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development, Carmen Crespo. In addition, the general director of Industries, Innovation and Agrifood Chain, Carmen Cristina de Toro, will present the main novelties of the brand, approved by Decree in the Governing Council on June 27.
Gusto del Sur is already a reality, born out of consensus with the business sector. In 2022, the Regional Ministry commissioned a market study to an external research institute to find out the opinion of Andalusian food and beverage entrepreneurs about Gusto del Sur and responds to the needs of the agri-food sector and the consumer.
It represents the leadership of the sector and marks the beginning of a new stage in the promotion of Andalusian agri-food. The new brand identifies Andalusian food and beverages of differentiated quality, helps consumers to appreciate and recognize them thanks to the labeling on the packaging, strengthens and improves the competitiveness of the sector and promotes marketing and internationalization.
Joining the Gusto del Sur brand entails a series of benefits, including: identifying products with quality and Andalusia, being part of a pioneering initiative for the future, receiving priority support in promotion and communication, advice on marketing, achieving exceptional visibility for Andalusian brands, associating them with excellence in quality and, in addition, having the institutional backing of the Junta de Andalucía (Regional Government of Andalusia).
Gusto del Sur represents the entire Andalusian agri-food reality[1] and the Junta de Andalucía will continue to work with the sector to incorporate other quality assumptions so that the new brand is increasingly representative of the Andalusian agri-food sector.
To be part of Gusto del Sur, the Junta de Andalucía has simplified the administrative processthrough an online platform where the entrepreneur can provide documentation and send the application for membership. The application period is open all year round and the resolution period is a maximum of three months.
Gusto del Sur is more than a brand that recognizes our way of doing and being, and our differentiated quality. It is a recognition of the unconditional commitment of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Sustainable Development for the sector, for rural development, for quality, innovation, food and cultural heritage.
