The seal of the Junta de Andalucía sponsors the Cinema Cocina section, whose winner will receive the Silver Biznaga for the best short film Gusto del Sur.
Gastronomic culture and cinema come together during the 27th edition of the Malaga Film Festival thanks to the support of Gusto del Sur, the agri-food quality brand of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development of the Regional Government of Andalusia.
The Malaga Film Festival will be held from March 1 to 10 at different locations in the Andalusian city.
Gusto del Sur is the official sponsor of the 7th Gastronomic Session Cinema Cocina, which will screen a total of 17 unpublished Spanish and international documentaries, including ten feature films and seven short films.
Parallel to the screening in this section of the Malaga Film Festival, there will be different round tables, tastings and a Gala Dinner at the Gran Hotel Miramar where you can enjoy products from the companies that are already part of Gusto del Sur.
In this way, the Ministry of Agriculture, through Gusto del Sur, will promote Andalusian food and beverages of differentiated quality with the sponsorship of this section of the Malaga Film Festival, whose winner will be announced on March 8 at the Gala Dinner.
Gastronomy and cinema on the big screen
Cinema Cocina, the gastronomic thematic section of the 27th edition of the Malaga Film Festival, offers the V Gastronomic Documentary Competition. In total, ten unpublished national and international feature films will be screened at the Echegaray Theater. In addition, different tastings will be held during the screenings in which Gusto del Sur products can be tasted. The winner of this section of the Malaga Film Festival will be awarded the Gusto del Sur Silver Biznaga.

Gusto del Sur is the brand with which the Junta de Andalucía identifies food and beverages of differentiated quality, helps consumers to recognize them thanks to the labeling on packaging, improves the competitiveness of the sector and promotes marketing and internationalization. It is a brand that the Board makes available to the sector to give a new impetus to the agri-food sector in Andalusia.
The seal is owned and managed by the Consejería de Agricultura, Pesca, Agua y Desarrollo Rural. In addition, this mark has been approved by the European Union, thus guaranteeing the quality of the products bearing this distinctive mark.
Gusto del Sur can be used by products under the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO), Protected Geographical Indications (PGI), Special Traditional Guaranteed (TSG), artisan products, organic and integrated production products, products of recognized private protocols, among others. Entrepreneurs authorized to use the mark will be able to use it on their packaging, thus adding value to their products and facilitating the consumer's purchasing decision.
In the first three months of the brand, more than 50 companies and 150 products from all sectors and subsectors of activity have already joined, which shows the great reception by the Andalusian agri-food sector.
